Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and The Kerala Story director Vipul Amrutlal Shah have worked together on a number of films in the past, including Waqt: The Race Against Time and Namastey London. However, the two haven't collaborated in a while. Director and producer Vipul Shah spoke on the subject, stating that while he enjoyed working with Akshay, he also desired to collaborate with other people.

Recently, in an interview with News18, Vipul Shah said, "When I look back now, I think that it was a very long period when we continuously worked together on a non-stop basis. Then I realised that I need to work with other actors as well and that it would be a good idea for both him and me. That’s when I started venturing out."

“Working with Akshay became like second nature. So, every time I was writing something or thinking of a subject, it was a natural thing for me to think of him. I started writing my characters keeping in mind Akshay’s style,” Shah added.

Vipul confirmed that he and the Good Newzz actor weren't fighting by revealing that they both are busy and whenever there's an opportunity, he can assure everyone that they both will collaborate and work together. "There’s no hard feeling. I don’t fight with anybody. I’m a very peace-loving and happy person. I’ve never had any fights in my entire career,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vipul Shah's recent production was The Kerala Story, which debuted in theatres on May 5. Sudipto Sen directed film stars Adah Sharma, Sonia Balani, and Yogita Bihani. The film became a hit among the moviegoers and joined the 200 crore club.
