One of these was the December 2023 release, The Iron Claw, which turned out to be a surprise package, exceeding expectations. All thanks to Zac Efron, the leading star of the movie, for doing some very interesting promotional outings, and the promotional material that was made available on the internet. However, the digital run in India for the movie was not as buzzworthy as the theatrical release. It turns out the movie is about to get a second chance.

You ask how? Well, if the latest update is to go by, The Iron Claw is all set to get a second round of digital runs in India, and the movie is now finally dropping on Lionsgate Play. For the past many weeks, Lionsgate Play has been ensuring they give us some very good re-releases, and with this announcement, they have probably outdone themselves because The Iron Claw is certainly one of the most anticipated movies to be dropping on the streaming platform. As per the latest listing in the Coming Up section of the Lionsgate Play app, The Iron Claw has been listed. The film that stars Zac Efron as the lead will be dropping on the portal. There is no confirmation on when it drops, but with so many projects already lined up on the app, including Adrift, Line Of Duty, Mona Lisa And The Blood Moon, and more, and The Iron Claw being added only today, the movie will not release anytime soon.

Starring Zac Efron in the lead and directed by Sean Durkin, The Iron Claw is a biographical drama that tells the story of the Von Erichs, a family of professional wrestlers who have a tragedy haunting them. The film follows the lives of the brothers and tells you about their highs, lows, and victories. Upon its theatrical release, Zac was praised for his insane transformation and the performance, which was called a surprise package.
Talking about it to Deadline last year, he said, “Nothing could prepare me for the wrestling. [Laughs] The physical preparation and the training—that’s something that I’ve always found very interesting. I’ve always admired people’s transformations, in particular for movie roles. I just find that dedication fascinating and special when I see it. So in training for this, I got to train essentially for my championship, my belt match.”
“It all came down to how precise my training is. How dedicated am I to this? How hard can I push? I think I shed a skin somewhere in those seven months when Kevin was really at the wheel. It felt honest, it felt real. I felt like I was physically there; I felt mentally there, as a direct result of the training, and then from there, the wrestling, surprisingly, was fun. It, in many ways, built the bond that we had as brothers for the movie,” Zac Efron added.
