Based on the infamous Sheena Bora case, the new Netflix documentary titled The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth is set for its world premiere on February 23. The documentary series unravels the high-profile murder case that led to the arrests of media tycoons Indrani and Peter Mukerjea in 2015. This documentary promises to provide gripping insights into the infamous murder case that rocked the elite circles of Mumbai.

The trailer of the series was released on February 12 and features clips, audio messages and images from the real events that occurred in 2012. Indrani was accused of abducting and killing her daughter, Sheena Bora, who was presented as her sister to the world.
Plot
The crime documentary gives a platform for Indrani to speak about her side of the story by presenting pictures never seen before and other materials that shed light on the case. In addition to rare family footage, the series also delves into Indrani’s time behind bars.
By featuring interviews with many journalists who covered the case along with family recordings and Indrani’s footage, the documentary tries to bring in multiple perspectives on the event while going through the intricate layers of the case. The series is being released months after the release of Indrani’s memoir, Unbroken: The Untold Story, wherein she recounts her experience of living six years in prison.
The four-episode documentary series will also feature Indrani Mukerjea along with her children Vidhie Mukherjea and Mikhail Bora, alongside legal experts shedding light on "dysfunctional family dynamics and intricate motivations." Promising to unveil the previously undisclosed narratives, the series also features "unsettling" phone conversations between Indrani, Peter and Rahul Mukerjea.
