The Impossible Heir is a new South Korean TV drama that is gearing up for its global premiere on Disney+ this month. The show assures 12 episodes and promises to drop episodes weekly. The show follows the ambitious climb of an underdog trio, mistreated by society and defeated by life, who are determined to rewrite their destiny.
Directed by Min Yeon Hong, The Impossible Heir was written by Choi Won. The show will premiere its pilot on Disney+ on February 28, 2024. The Impossible Heir dropped a teaser trailer on January 30, 2024, and a full-length payoff cum official trailer today. It features Lee Jae Wook (Alchemy of Souls), Lee Jun Young (Class of Lies), and Hong Su Zu (Sweet Home Season 2) as the leading trio of Han Tae Oh, Kang In Ha, and Na Hye Won.
The Impossible Heir follows the tale of the underprivileged, underdog trio, who are tormented by society one way or the other. Kang In Ha is the illegitimate, third son of a Korean conglomerate owner, who cannot even address his father with familiarity and has lived a life of sad life. Han Tae Oh, his childhood friend is publicly called and ridiculed as “the murderer’s son”, while impoverished Na Hye Won has to bear the burden of her mother’s gambling debts.
Having had enough, the unlucky trio decide to climb their way up the corporate order and take revenge on all those who have tormented them life-long, be it family, friends, or society. Each of the three are desperate, angry, and ambitious enough to blur the lines between friend and foe, lover and enemy.
Whether the three will manage to make it all the way to the top is what the show is all about. Also, it is going to be intriguing watching the leading trio attempt and falter in their attempts of cracking the corporate code, using the brains of Han Tae Oh, before succeeding eventually (we hope!), while maintaining their respective equations with one another.
