The upcoming Japanese anthology - The Grimm’s Variations is the original animated version of the German children's book - Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Yesterday Netflix teased fans with a two-minute-twenty-second video, which exhibits the first episode from the series. Developed by Wit Studio in collaboration with the illustrious manga group CLAMP, the series promises to show anime lovers a fresh view of the classic tale.
The Grimm Variations has 6 episodes. Each one of them are helmed by 6 different directors such as - Yōko Kanamori, Yasuhiro Akamatsu, Jun'ichirō Hashiguchi, Yumi Kawamura, Masato Takeuchi and Shintarou Nakazawa. The names of each episode are - Cinderella (episode 1), Little Red Riding Hood (episode 2), Hansel and Gretel (episode 3), The Elves and the Shoemaker (episode 4), Town Musicians of Bremen (episode 5) and Pied Piper of Hamelin (episode 6). The Grimm Variations exhibits 2 brothers - Jacob and Wilhelm wrote a collection of fairy tales, published them as a book. They have a little sister named Charlotte. One day, when the brother-duo is telling a story from their book to their little sister, she immediately asks if it has a happy ending, or not. The trailer only gives a sneak-peek from episode 1, and it ends with numerous assumptions of how the story ended.
The German fairy tale book tells a unique story about Charlotte, who actually has a different ideology from her brothers. Grimm Variations is written by Michiko Yokote and produced by George Wada. The original anime will be streamed in 190 countries. The story includes various intriguing elements like - horror, suspense, thriller, and more, which will definitely appear more exciting than reading the book.
The character Charlotte is voiced by Misato Fukuen, while Jacob and Wilhelm are voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki and Kenji Nojima, respectively in The Grimm’s Variations. The anime is Written by Michiko Yokote and music given by Akira Miyagawa.
