The Greatest Of All Time and Thalapathy 69 – Vijay to drop major updates soon?

Thalapathy Vijay, the crowd-puller of Tamil cinema, announced his political entry a few months back. The actor is planning to take a long break from his movie career to focus on the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. However, Vijay will complete his current project The Greatest Of All Time, and work on one more film which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, before the same. As per the reports, the celebrated star is planning to drop major updates on both The GOAT and Thalapathy 69 on his 50th birthday.

The Greatest Of all Time second single to be out soon

The makers of The Greatest Of All Time, the upcoming sci-fi action film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, are planning to treat the Vijay fans with the second single of the film, soon. If the early reports are to be believed, the song, which is touted to be a romantic number, has been named ‘Thangapulla’. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the second single, which is reportedly sung by Thalapathy Vijay himself. The lyrical video of The GOAT's second single is expected to be out on June 22, 2024, on the occasion of the actor’s 50th birthday.

Thalapathy 69 announcement

Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that Thalapathy Vijay’s most anticipated 69th film, which is believed to be his last project before making the political entry, might have its official announcement soon. According to the grapevine, talented director H Vinoth is expected to direct the movie, which is touted to be a political thriller. A leading Kannada film production banner is expected to make its debut in Tamil cinema with the untitled film, which is expected to have its official launch on June 21 or 22, amid the popular star’s 50th birthday celebrations.

Pokkiri re-release on Vijay's birthday

Ahead of Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday celebrations, the makers of the celebrated actor’s 2007-released blockbuster Pokkiri are planning to re-release the film in theatres. The Prabhu Deva directorial has been expected to have a worldwide re-release in 4K format, on June 21, 2024, Friday. If you are unable to watch Pokkiri in theatres, you can always revisit the much-loved action thriller on the popular streaming platform Sun NXT. The movie, which is a remake of the Mahesh Babu-starring Telugu blockbuster of the same name, is also available on OTTplay Premium.
