Plot

Inspired by Shirish Thorat’s best-selling novel ‘A Ticket To Syria’, the Disney+ Hotstar series mirrors the adventures that the ‘Freelancer’ undergoes while he is on his rescue mission of a young girl who has been held captive in a war-torn environment of Syria.

While the series is being directed by Bhav Dhulia, the prolific filmmaker Neeraj Pandey happens to be the creator and showrunner of the series. The said series has been bankrolled by Friday Storytellers.

Cast

While ‘The Freelancer’ stars Mohit Raina in the titular role, veteran actor Anupam Kher and actress Kashmira Pardeshi play extremely important roles in the series. The series also features extremely talented actors like Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik, Manjari Fadnnis and Sarah Jane Dias in prominent roles.

The makers of the series ‘The Freelancer’ had dropped the official trailer much before the release (which happens on September 1, 2023). The series sees Mohit Raina in the titular role. The trailer definitely ups the curiosity quotient about the said series. The trailer, which is short and crisp, delivers what to expect from the said series.

Poster

The OTT giant Disney+ Hotstar took to social media a few days back and shared an extremely intriguing poster of the series ‘The Freelancer’. The said poster had Mohit Raina with a machine gun in his hand alongwith the veteran actor Anupam Kher and Kashmira Pardeshi in the poster. What was remarkable about the poster was that the trio’s faces were set against the backdrop of bombings in Syria, the place where the series is based. The show’s makers captioned the post as, “Beyond borders, beyond limits, a journey that asks: how far will you go to rewrite fate? #HotstarSpecials #TheFreelancer - Trailer out tomorrow.
