While we are not hooked to everything Marvel Cinematic Universe, the excitement is also about the fact that the order in the MCU now changes. The future is X-Men and the First Family that will swing in their standalone movie coming July 2025. We are talking about The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the movie that will mark their debut in the MCU. There is so much excitement attached to the project that fans have been wanting to know more. Now, in a new official synopsis, it is confirmed that the movie will have a 1960s time period in a futuristic setup, and Marvel's First Family will fight the biggest danger to date. Galactus, with Silver Surfer, now wants to eat Earth, and The Fantastic Four now have to stop him.

The official synopsis for The Fantastic Four: First Steps reads: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.”
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps Cast
The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in mystery roles, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as the villain Galactus. The most exciting aspect of the cast is the fact that the film will change Silver Surfer’s gender as Julia Garner takes over.
Kevin Feige On The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 was prepared to give fans all the dose to up the anticipation for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Marvel Cinematic Universe President presented a special reel to introduce the world to their idea of Marvel's First Family in the MCU. The film will be set in an alternate reality in New York set in the retro/future ’60s. The first footage also ended up confirming that Galactus will indeed be the main villain of the movie, and a departure from the Purple Cloud with Space Dust appearance in the past film. He will now have a body. The video shows him peering through a skyscraper, confirming his giant cosmic entity appearance.
Additionally, Kevin Feige has also now confirmed that The Fantastic Four will have participation in Avengers: Doomsday and also in Avengers: Secret Wars. There is no more added to this update, but it is still a whole lot exciting. Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will release on the big screen on July 25, 2025.
