Mauritius served as the location for nearly a third of the film's shooting. Many hailed it as India's first zombie film and the country's first stoner movie. The box-office performance of Go Goa Gone was satisfactory. Although the zombies, editing, and pace received high praise, the storyline and the film's second act faced heavy criticism, ultimately leading to cult status.

On a deserted island in the film, the Russian mafia extends an invitation to three friends to a secret rave. What follows is an unforgettable journey filled with zombies and tons of laughter.
