In some exciting news for horror fans, production has finally begun on Mike Flanagan’s upcoming mini-series which is titled The Fall of the House of Usher. Flanagan’s frequent collaborator Kate Siegal, who also stars in the upcoming series, recently shared a photo from the show’s sets to celebrate the start of production.

The photo, posted on the actress’s Twitter handle, shows Siegel pointing to a sign with the series logo on it. The logo features a raven, seemingly in reference to Edgar Allan Poe’s popular poem, The Raven.

The upcoming limited series will be based on multiple works of the late Gothic author and poet. The series shares its title with one of Poe’s short stories, which told the story of a family who start to witness strange things happenings in their house. The Fall of the House of Usher will be produced under Flanagan’s Intrepid Pictures banner.

The series cast will be headlined by Academy Award nominated actor, Frank Langella, who will essay the role of the Usher family patriarch Roderick Usher. The series will also feature Flanagan’s previous collaborators including Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Carla Gugino, T’Nia Miller, Robert Longstreet, Henry Thomas, Samantha Sloyan, Crystal Balint, Michael Trucco, Zach Gilford, and Sauriyan Sapkota. The upcoming series will mark Flanagan and Gugino’s fourth collaboration together.

Other cast members include Mark Hamill, Malcolm Goodwin, Carl Lumbly and Mary McDonnell.

The upcoming project will mark Flanagan’s latest project for Netflix. The filmmaker had also helmed the popular horror shows The Haunting of Hill House,The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass for the streaming giant. The first two shows were also based on literary works, written by Shirley Jackson and Henry James.

Flanagan is also working on another Netflix project, titled The Midnight Club.
