Now, the filmmaker is gearing up for his upcoming film, The Delhi Files, which is yet another based on a real-life subject. The first look at Mithun Chakraborty's character in The Delhi Files has arrived, and it shows him in an intense and captivating persona.
Chakraborty's first look from The Delhi Files is out now, and it's a dramatic video of him reciting the Indian Constitution in a deserted hallway while his tongue is burnt. The veteran actor, sporting a white beard, exudes a rugged demeanour during his passionate recitation of the Constitution. This sneak peek showcases Mithun's portrayal, and Agnihotri hopes that his latest film will initiate significant discussions on the politics, social dynamics, and history of India.
The Delhi Files vividly depicts a pivotal period in Indian history. The film uncovers a hitherto unknown aspect of India's history as it delves into the tragic Bengal catastrophe. Collaborating with his co-producer Abhishek Agarwal for The Kashmir Files, Agnihotri immersed himself in research, embarking on extensive journeys from Kerala to Kolkata and Delhi to gather comprehensive and genuine information for his project. He read over 100 books and over 200 articles, which inspired the historical events that form the basis of his film. He and his colleagues combed through more than 7,000 pages of research and 1,000 papers in archives in addition to books, covering 20 states in the process.
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri will direct The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, which Pallavi Joshi and Abhishek Agarwal produced. I Am Buddha, producing the film, and Tej Narayan Agarwal, hosting, have scheduled the global premiere for August 15, 2025.
