After the success of The Broken News, the makers renewed the web series for a second season. Directed by Vinay Waikul, season one of The Broken News opened to a positive response from critics as well as the audience. Now, there are only a few days left for the release of The Broken News 2. Before it premieres on a streaming platform, here's everything you need to know about the newsroom drama.
The Broken News 2, starring Sonali Bendre, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat, is scheduled to premiere on May 3, 2024. With only four days left for the web show's release, the makers are going all out to promote the series.
The trailer of Vinay Waikul's series The Broken News 2 showcases Radha's (Shriya Pilgaonkat) vengeance against Dipankar Sanyal (played by Jaideep Ahlawat). In the trailer, it is shown that Radha informs Ameena Qureshi (played by Sonali Bendre) about a scoop that could destroy Dipankar's career. However, Ameena tells Radha to understand the real purpose of journalism and not divert from her goal.

The first season of The Broken News ended with Radha being framed as a terrorist and put behind bars. However, the second season will focus on Radha set out to take revenge from Dipankar. The Broken News 2 will delve deep into yellow journalism, TRP battles, politics and crime.
While Sonali will be seen as Ameena Qureshi, Shriya essays the role of Radha. Jaideep, on the other hand, will reprise his role of Dipankar in the series. The Broken News 2's star cast also includes Taaruk Raina Anuj Saxena, Indraneil Sengupta as Pankaj Awasthi and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya as Juhi Shergill.
