Jaideep Ahlawat is gearing up for the release of The Broken News 2. The actor will be reprising the role of a journalist, Dipankar Sanyal, in the web series, directed by Vinay Waikul. He plays the Chief Editor of a news channel called Josh in the ZEE5 show. Set to premiere on May 3, The Broken News 2 is the second installment of the 2022 web show. Before its release, the makers dropped an intriguing promo of Jaideep as Dipankar from The Broken News.

ZEE5 dropped the new trailer for The Broken News 2 on Instagram. While sharing the same, the streaming platform wrpte, "Propaganda ya journalism? Kya hai Dipankar Sanyal ka agenda? Find out in TheBrokenNewsS2 premieres 3rd May, only on ZEE5 (sic)."
In the promo, Jaideep Ahlawat as Dipankar Sanyal asks the audience what 'news' means to them. The clip leaves us wanting for more, as Jaideep only teases what news means to Dipankar Sanyal. Is it propaganda or journalism? Only time will tell.

Earlier, in an interview with Hindu, Jaideep Ahlawat revealed why his character, Dipankar Sanyal, switches to sensationalism.
"A village where people were socio-politically dumb and deaf—when he (Dipankar) became their voice through honest journalism, he didn’t get his due. So when he got the opportunity to play the game, he switched to sensationalism. We have seen such examples around us," he said.
The Broken News 2 cast and story
Helmed by Vinay Waikul, the cast of The Broken News 2 includes Sonali Bendre as Ameena Qureshi and Shriya Pilgaonkar as Radha Bhargava. Taaruk Raina and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya also play pivotal roles in the series, which drops tomorrow on ZEE5.
