Over the past many months, Lionsgate Play has been a front-runner in bringing newly released and some old Hollywood films and shows to their platform. Action and thrillers have been their genre, and the team at their office is probably enjoying it so much that there is an abundance of action thrillers and shows making it to their platform every month. Be it Plane, The Beekeeper, The John Wick series, Expendables, and more, there is a long list. Amid all of this is a film that dropped on the platform this April in the first week and, while being an action thriller, is one of its kind.

Yes, we are talking about The Bricklayer which streamed on the streamer in April this year and has not been spoken about much. There is so much to marvel at in the movie that is about a secret. But one thing that has left us curious is the end of the movie which is not just open but also very complex if you look at it. Let us dissect it today. Below is everything you should know about the same.

The Bricklayer Plot

Starring Aaron Eckhart and Nina Dobrev in the lead, The Bricklayer is about a man named Vail, who is a retired CIA agent made to return to work by delaying his retirement. He is brought back to unearth a mystery. A man is out there killing international journalists and blaming the agency for the same. The task is to find the killer and his motive behind these crazy killings. The film is an edge-of-the-seat ride through the investigation.

The Bricklayer Ending Explained

If you have not seen the movie, this is a spoiler, and you have been warned. When Vail tells Radek to meet him in person, Radek tells him about the last assignment which is a hit on Kostas. He has plans to broadcast the dark truth about the agency, and by the time this is revealed, the money transfer is done, and the bomb explodes. Vail escapes and starts moving toward Kostas, where he finds Radek on the stage. He immediately picks up a hammer and destroys the stage, stopping Radek from reaching his gun. Vail apologizes to his old friend and shoots him.

Later, we see Vail being saved by O'Malley from getting incriminated by proving he was working for the agency. We then learn that the Bitcoin wallet transfer never happened and Vail made Radek believe that it did. Vail then goes to Thea only to find out she was working for Radek against him all this while. When her men come to kill Vail, Thea tries to escape. Kate enters the story and shoots down Thea. Later, O'Malley offers Kate a promotion, but she quits the CIA instead. Her decision is because she wants to serve the country and not the agency. We are never told that in words, but it is clear in her conduct.
