In June, The Bear will premiere its third season. During FX's presentation during the Television Critics Association's winter 2024 press tour, chairman John Landgraf made the announcement. But he was tight-lipped regarding the season. He made a joke and said, "Unfortunately, I can't" when asked if the show would have as many famous guests as Season 2. When the Christmas episode showed up at the door, he was just as taken aback as the viewers were.
But Landgraf did address the show's distribution plan, stating that he had no doubt Hulu would keep releasing every episode at the same time instead of weekly. Neither he nor anyone else involved with the show was unaware that it was stressful. So they decided to scrap it all because it has this lovely, hopeful finale.
For FX, The Bear has been an enormous success. Jeremy Allen White won the award for best comedy actor, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri received the honour for supporting comedy actors. Season 1 also won ten trophies at last month's strike-delayed Emmy ceremonies, in addition to reaching a large audience with both seasons. At the Golden Globes and Critics Choice prizes, White, Edebiri, and the entire series won the best show titles, respectively; Moss-Bachrach also received a Critics Choice Award, and Season 2 has already started winning prizes.
While White has not read any scripts yet, he will shortly begin Season 3 preparations, he told Variety in December. Getting together with a few chefs is something the actor intends to do frequently in January. In the third season, the restaurant will likely have a set menu. Additionally, White will begin collaborating with many chefs to create that menu. Before the first season, they all put in a lot of time preparing. He honed his skills in a restaurant and then went on to culinary school. The second season focused more on setting up the restaurant than on the actual cooking. However, he believes that the functional kitchen environment from the first season will return in the third.
