Prime Video’s upcoming series The Baxter is gearing up for its OTT release soon on the streaming platform. The series had a challenging journey throughout its making and release as it began filming way back in 2018. Nearly six years later the family drama will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Adapted from New York Times best-selling novel of Karen Kingsbury – The Basters is a poignant tale of family and faith. This 10-episodic series will premiere on March 28. The makers also shared an emotionally charged trailer to give a glimpse into the family and how they overcome challenges and struggles of life.
In the trailer, we get to meet the Basters and their loving family. Elizabeth and John’s perfect life consists of five grown-up children, who are their pillars of support. The family’s life takes a turn when Kari reveals that her husband is having an extramarital affair with one of his students. This shocking discovery shatters the entire family as they try to give hope and comfort to Kari as she navigates how to reconcile her marriage.

Directed by Rachel Feldman and Tony Mitchell, The Basters revolves around the Baster family as they navigate the hardships together. Their deep and emotional bonds with each other helps to sail through the challenges. Season 1’s main storyline centers around Kari and her troubled married life when she discovers that her husband is having an affair.
Roma Downey plays Elizabeth Baxter, the loving matriarch, while McGinley portrays John Baxter, the patriarch of the family. Ali Cobrin stars as Kari (Elizabeth and John’s daughter) while Masey McLain (Ashley), Josh Plasse (Luke), Reilly Anspaugh (Erin) and Emily Peterson (Brooke) all features as her siblings.
