Meet the cast of The Archies:
The Archies has an ensemble cast featuring many newcomers and young actors, namely Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Aditi Saigal as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley. In the film, Archie and the gang face off against developers who threaten to demolish a treasured park in India during the 1960s.
The makers take on The Archies crew:
Earlier, during an interaction with Pinkvilla, when Zoya was asked to describe each of the characters, the filmmaker stated, "The charmer of the seven, I think it's actually Archie. Veronica is the most hardworking. I would say maybe Dilton is the best dancer. Reggie has the most swag of them all. There's no diva. Party animal, maybe Dilton, because he's the youngest. Archie is the most mischievous on set. Betty is the most stylish. Reggie cannot pass a mirror without looking into it."
While, Reema Kagti, in an interview with Scroll spoke about the adaptation by saying, "We are not dealing with characters who might be Veronica or Bettie but our Archies is a true adaptation of the comic. We hope to not just bring Archie to an Indian audience familiar with the comics but also make it relevant for younger people who may not have read the comics."
The Archies will premiere on Netflix on December 7, 2023.
