Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, has began tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here’s a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of August 9th, 2021 – August 15th, 2021. The numbers are all estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming released from the South.

1) The Legend Of Hanuman S2 – Disney+Hotstar

Views (million): 5.8

This Indian animated mythological fantasy streaming television series follows Hanuman and his transformation from a mighty warrior to a god.

2) Shershaah – Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 3.8

Sidharth Malhotra portrays the life of Indian army captain Vikram Batra, awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest award for valour for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War.

3) Bhuj: The Pride Of India – Disney+Hotstar

Views (million): 3.6

Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film follows IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, played by Ajay Devgn, then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who, with his team, reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from the local village Madhapar.

4) Dial 100 – Zee5

Views (million): 2.0

Set in a familiar movie environment: the emergency control room, Nikhil Sood (Manoj Bajpayee), the senior supervisor who is juggling personal crises, receives a call from a seemingly suicidal woman (Neena Gupta).

5) Big Boss OTT – Voot

Views (million): 1.9

Bigg Boss OTT, also known as Bigg Boss: Over-The-Top, is the first season of the Indian reality TV series Bigg Boss to be made for and aired on a streaming platform exclusively. Karan Johar is the host.
