Tharun Bhascker's directorial Keedaa Cola takes off; Siddharth, Teja Sajja and Suresh Babu grace launch event

Pelli Choopulu director Tharun Bhascker, who has been in the news more for his acting assignments lately, is back to his first love - filmmaking. The filmmaker was all set to commence shoot of his crime drama with Naga Chaitanya though the project was pushed owing to the actor's earlier commitments. In the meanwhile, Tharun put another script together, Keedaa Cola, a crime comedy primarily featuring new actors. The film, which was announced a few weeks ago, was formally launched today.

Keedaa Cola will be Tharun's third film as a director after Pellichoopulu and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi, with both the films attaining immense following among urban crowds. Tharun will also be overseeing the production work for the film along with his friends under his own banner VG Sainma. Shripad Nandiraj, Saikrishna Gadwal, Upendra Verma, Vivek Sudhanshu, Kaushik Nanduri are the producers. Producer Suresh Babu, actors Siddharth, Teja Sajja, Nandu attended the launch event. 

Other celebrities who were part of the pooja ceremony were actor Suhas, director Prasanth Varma, Sandeep Raj and Daggubati Abhiram, to name a name a few. Tharun Bhascker's mother, actor Geetha Bhascker was also present at the event. The filming of Keedaa Cola is expected to commence shortly. Quick Fox has worked on the film's screenplay. Keedaa Cola is a film that's aiming for a release in multiple markets in 2023. 

It'll be interesting to see whether Siddharth's presence at the launch was out of a friendly gesture or if he will be associated with the film in any role. The cast, crew and other details about Keedaa Cola will be revealed soon. Tharun Bhascker's last release as an actor was Sita Ramam. Skylab, Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, Middle Class Melodies, Falaknuma Das were among his other on-screen appearances. Earlier in 2021, he had directed a short for Netflix's anthology Pitta Kathalu too.
