Thank You For Coming promo: Bhumi Pednekar’s Kanika Kapoor gets dumped at 30, faces societal pressure of being a single woman

Thank You For Coming is slated to release in theatres within three days. Ahead of that, the makers have shared a new promo featuring Bhumi Pednekar. In the role of Kanika Kapoor, she faces the real problem of every single woman in her 30s. She faces the societal pressure and that gets to her as a woman living in an Indian society.

What is the promo all about?

From the looks of it, Kanika is at her 30th birthday bash. She has just got dumped and feels unworthy of love. Further, her grandmother talks about women getting menopause at 38. She puts more pressure by stating that they both will have the same value in the ‘market’ if time passes them by.

What is Thank You For Coming all about?

Thank You For Coming is an adult comedy. Five women face their own issues but Kanika faces the biggest of them all – being single while her ‘body clock is ticking.’ Her dream finally comes true but she’s not even sure who the man that made her happy is. Thus begins the search to find her Prince Charming.

The cast and crew

Apart from Bhumi, Thank You For Coming stars Shehnaaz Gill as Rushi Kalra, Dolly Singh as Pallavi Khanna, Kusha Kapila as Neha aka The Queen, Shibani Bedi as Tina Das, Sushant Divgikar as Rahul and Karan Kundrra as Arjun. Anil Kapoor is also seen in a special appearance in the film.

The movie is helmed by Karan Boolani and produced by Rhea Kapoor in collaboration with Ekta Kapoor. It has already premiered at TIFF (46th Toronto International Film Festival, 2023) on September 15 and will now release in theatres on October 6.
