The much-awaited trailer of Thangalaan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Vikram in the lead role, has been finally unveiled by the makers on Wednesday.

Thangalaan is an upcoming Tamil film starring Vikram, aka Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role. The film is helmed by director Pa Ranjith. The makers on Wednesday unveiled the trailer of the film on social media. While officially a release date is yet to be announced, it is expected to hit theatres on August 15.
The two-minute-long trailer of Thangalaan is loaded with plenty of drama and action sequences. It seems to revolve around a group of indigenous tribe that gets summoned by a British officer for a task. It is hinted that the group is employed to create the origins of Kolar Gold Fields. There is also a parallel track of a divine presence in form a spirit played by Malavika Mohanan. Thangalaan trailer has immense rustic and gritty sequences, with Vikram brandishing his acting prowess.
A period action drama headlined by Vikram, Thangalaan is one of the most expected Tamil films this year. Scores of fans have been patient for the makers to give an update about the film, since Thangalaan had finished production a while ago.
Apart from Vikram, the Pa Ranjith directorial also stars actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and others. Thangalaan is said to talk about the origins of Kolar Gold Fields and will have music by composer GV Prakash Kumar, marking his first time working with Ranjith.

The film is produced by Jio Studios, Studio Green and Neelam Productions. The technical crew consists of Tamil Praba serving as the co-writer of the film, which was shot by cinematographer Kishor Kumar. Selva RK has worked on the editing of Thangalaan.
Thangalaan will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. After the theatrical run, the film will be streamed on Netflix. It is the first time Vikram will be working with Pa Ranjith, further creating more expectations from the film.
