Thangalaan teaser leaves fans in awe, netizens say Vikram will win 'National Award and earn Rs 1000 cr'

The teaser of Thangalaan was released on Wednesday. Starring Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram in the lead, the promo video has received an extraordinary response from fans and movie-buffs.

The teaser has caught the imagination of viewers, flooding the internet with immense praise for Vikram and director Pa Ranjith.

Many on the internet are convinced that Vikram will win the National Award for his terrific performance in Thangalaan. Even though the movie is yet to be released, and viewers have only seen 90 seconds of Ranjith's epic vision, it has inspired great confidence in the movie's box office success among audiences and industry insiders alike.

"#Thangalaan looks bloody raw and international..!! Best wishes and looking forward," tweeted SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures. However, he's not the only one who feels that Ranjith has outdone his competitors when it comes to production value. 

"Mark my words. #Thangalaan will take Tamil cinema to the next level. The teaser is mind-blowing. It has rawness, rustic charm, and an air of brutality all over it. It promises a cinematic experience unlike anything seen before in Tamil cinema. @chiyaan will sweep the board at award shows. The filmmaking standards reminded me of Hollywood classics like Apocalypto," said a fan on X, formerly Twitter.

Not just awards, netizens also believe that Thangalaan has the potential to become the first Tamil movie to earn Rs 1000 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. Even though Tamil movies have performed exceptionally well at the global box office this year, none have managed to breach the Rs 1000 crore threshold. 

Written and directed by Ranjith, Thangalaan is bankrolled by Studio Green. The teaser reveals Ranjith's ambitious vision as he reimagines the sufferings inflicted on Indians by the greedy British imperialists. 

Thangalaan is set to hit the worldwide screens on January 26, 2024.
