The shoot for Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan has been wrapped and it looks like the actors in the film have gone on to shed their long locks and beard they sported for the film. Actor Vikram, whose long locks and beard had set the internet on fire during the shoot of Mani Ratnam's historical fiction and magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan 2, has now trimmed his locks and has shaved off his beard.

His new look with a moustache is now doing the rounds on the internet. The new look has taken the internet by storm. While some have given a thumbs up for the brand new avatar, some have stated that the look doesn't suit the actor very well.

It was only recently that English actor Dan Caltagirone, who plays a crucial role in Thangalaan, revealed that he had bid adieu to his beard. The actor dropped a new picture in a clean-shaven look and captioned it, "Goodbye beard! Hello Face! #Thangalaan (sic). He stated that he won't miss the beard.

The shoot for the film was wrapped earlier this week. Vikram had dropped a picture with Pa Ranjith and the film's leading ladies, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan and had written on his social media handle, "And it’s a wrap!! What a journey!!  Worked with some of the most amazing people & had some of the most evocative experiences as an actor. Was it just 118 working days between the first pic & the last. Thank you Ranjit for making us live this dream. Every single day. #thangalaan (sic)."

Thangalaan is said to be based on the life of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, in the pre-independence British era. The film's director had earlier revealed in an interview that the film was an attempt to gain respect that's long overdue for an oppressed community.

GV Prakash Kumar has scored the music, Kishore Kumar has handled the cinematography and Selva is handling the editing. The film is bankrolled by Studio Green and Neelam Productions.
