Thangalaan, the Tamil period action drama headlined by actor Vikram, released in Hindi on September 6 for the audience in the northern belt. The film is written and directed by Pa Ranjith, and released in Tamil on August 15. Upon its Hindi release, the film has been getting equally glorious reviews from the audience.

The film is written and directed by Pa Ranjith and also stars actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, and others in important roles. Thangalaan is a period action drama, which revolves around a group of tribals commissioned by a British officer to trace gold in KGF.

The film released in Tamil on August 15. Following the good reception the film received, Thangalaan was released in Hindi on September 6. Thangalaan had entered the 100-crore club a few days after its release. It is produced by Studio Green in association with Neelam Productions and Jio Studios. Thangalaan has elements of magic realism in its story, which revolves around the local deity of KGF which protects the land and the gold from those who try to rob it.

Thangalaan marked the first collaboration between Ranjith and Vikram. Recently, Vikram opened up about the possibility of Thangalaan getting a sequel. He had said that the film is getting so much love from audience and with so much possibilities of making a sequel, Vikram said it might happen as soon as Ranjith gets free.
