English actor Dan Caltagirone is relieved that he could finally shave off his beard that he sported for Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan. The actor, who plays a crucial role in the film, dropped a new picture, in which he sports a clean-shaven look and captioned it, "Goodbye beard! Hello Face! #Thangalaan (sic). He added that he won't miss the beard. "Dear beard, it's been real, but I won't miss you (sic)!"

The shoot for Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan was recently wrapped and the team made the announcement of the same with an interesting video. Calling the experience of working in the film an interesting one, Caltagirone wrote, "It's hard to express my gratitude for the incredible journey on #Thangalaan! The struggles, the laughter, the tears. From friendships forged to mesmerizing artistry created, it's been mind-blowing. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made me feel so at home in beautiful India. The love I experienced will forever stay in my heart (sic)."

Interestingly, Dan had made his Twitter debut ahead of Thangalaan. Vikram had welcomed him to the set whole-heartedly to which Dan replied, "Thank you #Chiyaan! Happy to be a part of this amazing production. See you on the set tomorrow. Bright and early (sic)."

 The plot of Thangalaan is said to be based on the true events in the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka. The film is set in the pre-independence era, and will have a considerable cast of English actors to play the Britishers. The star cast of Thangalaan includes Vikram, Pasupathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan to name a few.

Music for the film is by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by A Kishor Kumar and editing by Selva RK. Stunner Stam has handled the stunt choreography. The film has been bankrolled by Studio Green and Neelam Productions.
