The film will release alongside Keerthy Suresh’s Raghu Thatha, Prashanth-starrer Andhagan, and horror thriller Demonte Colony. Thangalaan is one of the most expected films of Tamil cinema this year and Vikram’s next release after Ponniyin Selvan 2.
The makers of Thangalaan released the trailer of the film recently. The film which is touted to be a period action drama had got a preview of it in the trailer. Loaded with action sequences, it shows Vikram as a tribal leader who is tasked with searching for gold in the Kolar Gold Fields. The trailer also hints at Malavika Mohanan playing a sorceress.
Vikram plays the lead role in Thangalaan; this is the first time that he is collaborating with Pa Ranjith. Actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan, Daniel Caltagirone and others play pivotal roles in the film. While Parvathy plays Vikram’s wife, Malavika plays a sorceress who will have a divine intervention in the film.
Pa Ranjith has written and directed the film, with Tamil Prabha serving as co-writer. The film is produced by Jio Studios, Studio Green and Neelam Productions. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Kishor Kumar. Selva RK has worked on the editing of Thangalaan. GV Prakash has scored the music for Thangalaan.
