It is a known fact that Naga Chaitanya is busy with his new film Thandel, which is directed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya fame. The shooting of this film is nearing its completion, and there is a solid buzz for this movie, which is a village drama with an action backdrop.
We have exclusively learned that the makers have decided to release the film on December 20, 2024, and will announce the same soon. The GA 2 banner, headed by Allu Aravind, is bankrolling this film, which also has a Pakistani jail backdrop. Thandel is Naga Chaitanya's biggest film to date, as it is being made on a budget of Rs 50 crore.

Naga Chaitanya will play a fisherman who gets lost in the territorial waters of Pakistan and is arrested. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in this film, which has completed 60 per cent of its shoot. A massive set, depicting a Karachi jail, was built in Hyderabad, and a chunk of the shoot happened in this set. Only a few days of shoot are left in this set, which will be showcased in the second half of the film.
Sai Pallavi will be seen as a girl with ideal social values and a rebellious attitude. According to reports, she will also mouth the Srikakulam dialect. The word is also that Sai Pallavi's role will bring in the actual twist in the love story, and the concept of the film will be unleashed as a conflict between the main lead, Naga Chaitanya, and Sai Pallavi.
This is the second time that Sai Pallavi has teamed up with Chay Akkineni after their hit film Love Story. Devi Sri Prasad, the National Award winner for Pushpa, is composing the music for this film, which is being produced by Bunny Vas. The release date of December 20, 2024, is also special, as Nithin's Robinhood will also be released on the same date.
