Thandel is Naga Chaitanya's biggest film to date, with the makers investing heavily in this romantic drama. Released on February 7, 2025, Thandel has had a fantastic start at the box office.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film saw a phenomenal Sunday, recording its highest numbers in its first three days. After earning Rs 11.5 crore on day one and Rs 11 crore on day two, Thandel made Rs 13.5 crore on day three. With this, the film’s total first-weekend collection stands at Rs 35.5 crore.

This marks the first time Naga Chaitanya has played such a rooted character, and audiences have embraced him wholeheartedly. His father, Nagarjuna, even shared a heartfelt tweet praising his son’s sincere performance.

The film is also performing well in the US, having grossed just over $700K. As per the latest update, Thandel is expected to cross the $1 million mark this week. Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) composed the music, and his songs played a key role in the film’s strong opening at the box office.

Sai Pallavi stars as the female lead and her chemistry with Naga Chaitanya has been a major highlight, contributing to the film’s success. Netflix has acquired the digital rights and is set to stream the film in the second week of March.

With three major films releasing over the Valentine's Day weekend, it remains to be seen how the makers of Thandel will sustain its momentum. For now, the romantic drama has enjoyed a stellar first weekend worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates.
