We had told you Thaman was scoring music for Vijay's next, tentatively titled, Thalapathy 66. This marks the first-time collaboration between Thaman and Vijay. Naturally, fans are excited about the same.
Thaman, who is known for delivering chartbusters in Telugu, said he's striving his best to give a foot-tapping album for Thalapathy 66. In a recent interaction with fans, the music director assured us that the songs in the Vijay-starrer will keep everyone hooked.
While we learn that Thaman has already completed a few songs in Thalapathy 66, he shared a few pictures from the composing session to keep the fans updated.
Thalapathy 66 shooting is currently underway in Hyderabad, and the team has camped in a film city for the shoot. A source tells OTTplay, "This schedule is expected to go on for about 20 days."
Talking of quick compositions, Thaman, in an interview with the Hindu, reveals that Butta Bomma of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was composed in 15 minutes. There are other films for which it took months to arrive at the music and sound. He cites the example of Bheemla Nayak. Thaman was at sea for six months, experimenting with beats. "Once the title Bheemla Nayak was locked, it somehow fell in place." The brief was "to sound like a good music band that got lost in the jungles."
Despite his hectic schedule, Thaman always finds time for cricket, he says. "Cricket is a passion and a stressbuster," Thaman told the Hindu.
Thaman's upcoming slate includes big-ticket Telugu films such as Ghani, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Thank You, Godfather and RC 15.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Shaam and Sarathkumar in prominent roles. Interestingly, Shaam had played an uncredited role in Vijay's 2000-released film, Kushi.
Thalapathy 66, produced by Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations, is scripted jointly by Vamshi Paidipally, Hari, and Ashishor Solomon. Lyricist Vivek is penning the dialogues and additional screenplay.
Billed as a family entertainer, Thalapathy 66, has Kharthik Palani as the cinematographer and KL Praveen as the editor. Earlier, producer Dil Raju had revealed that they are aiming for a Deepavali 2022 release or Pongal 2023.
