Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna appear to have spent a frightening December surrounded by vampires. Scenes for the vampire comedy Thama, in which the actors are collaborating for the first time, started rolling last week. As per the latest reports, on December 12, at Powai's Chitra Studios, director Aditya Sarpotdar formally commenced the project.

Unique settings and postponed start

A report in Mid Day revealed that both modern-day Delhi and the Vijayanagara Empire in ancient times serve as settings in Thama, the latest installment in horror comedy producer Dinesh Vijan's canon. Originally scheduled for October, the project rollout experienced a postponement.

It all started on December 12 with a night schedule for Ayushmann, Rashmika, and Paresh Rawal. Production designers Amit Ray and Subrata Chakraborty have constructed the set for Rawal's house in Delhi at Chitra Studio. In this location, the three filmed their opening sequence. According to a source, filming will continue at this location until December 23. Following that, they will take a break for the New Year.

In January, the unit will reconvene in Delhi to plan its whole schedule.

The unit will go to Ooty in February after spending a month in the capital, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be joining them. Aditya has arranged extensive filming in the Ooty forests, following the revelation that the actor's character resides in the bush. The insider revealed that costume designer Sheetal Sharma has given Siddiqui, the actor who portrays the antagonist, a different look.

Rashmika Mandanna's excitement for Thama

Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Mandanna expressed her excitement about Thama, stating that the audience will be amazed by it and she will be able to fly around. The actor is filled with excitement and finds herself enthralled by this unique universe. They are creating everything from the very beginning. They are making things up and getting others to believe they can come true.

Mandanna loves creating films for children, and this one is specifically designed for them, as they are the perfect audience. She added that the kids are having a blast phoning their parents to get them tickets to the movie. To her, that sounds like pure bliss.

With all that performance, this is a whole new universe for her. Engaging in extreme physical activities differs significantly from managing one's face and emotions. The opportunity to do it is hers. Mandanna believes she has also experienced the manifestation of Thama, and something exciting and entertaining has been on her mind.
