Thallumala release date: When and where to watch this Tovino Thomas-starrer rollicking entertainer online

Thallumala, which hit the screens almost a month ago, is set for a digital premiere. The Khalid Rahman directorial, which stars Tovino Thomas in the lead, opened to positive reviews from critics and the audience upon its release, and is one of the biggest hits of Malayalam this year.

The movie was lauded for the performance of lead actors like Tovino, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Shine Tom Chacko, Chemban Vinod, Binu Pappu, Lukman Avaran, Johny Antony and Gokulan among others. Vishnu Vijay's songs and background score in the film garnered unanimous positive response among moviegoers.

Jimshi Khalid's vibrant visuals and Nishadh Yusuf's impressive editing style were two primary factors which attracted film lovers, especially the young audience. Ashiq Usman has bankrolled Thallumala which has its story penned by Muhsin Parari and Ashraf Hamza. The film went on to collect more than 40 crores from across the world and has emerged as Tovino's highest grosser.

The movie's success has given a new lease of life for the actor after three outings of him - Naaradan, My Dear Friend and Vaashi - received lukewarm response at the box office this year. 

Thallumala will drop on Netflix on September 11, exactly a month after its theatrical release. Interestingly, My Dear Friend and Vaashi, too, had its OTT premiere on Netflix. The film's story revolves around a happy-go-lucky guy who locks horns with a cop during an unexpected situation.

How he, along with his friends, sorts out the issue amicably forms the rest of the story. Supreme Sundar's well-choreographed fight sequences are one of the highlights of the project which is narrated in an impressive non-linear manner.
