If the buzz is to be believed, the landmark 100th film of one of the oldest production houses in Tamil cinema, Super Good Films, will have Thalapathy Vijay as the protagonist. Speaking at an event, actor Jiiva, sort of confirmed the news. "I think the production house met Vijay sir a week ago. I am talking to my father to get me on board as well. Even if they do not pay me for the same, I don't mind. I hope, with god's grace, the 100th film will be headlined by Vijay sir himself."
It is to be noted that Jiiva is the son of producer RB Chowdhury, the founder of Super Good Films. Vijay and Jiiva had earlier worked together in Shankar's Nanban (2012), which was the remake of the coming-of-age comedy drama 2 Idiots. While Vijay played the character played by Aamir Khan in the original (Phunsukh Wangdu), Jiiva played Sharman Joshi's character Raju Rastogi.
Interestingly, some of the biggest hits and popular films of Vijay were churned out by the very same production house, be it Poove Unakkaga (1996), Love Today (1997), Thulladha Mananum Thullum (1999), Shahjahan (2001), Thirupaachi (2005) and Jilla (2014) to name a few.
Vijay is currently busy shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's action entertainer Leo. The film marks the comeback of the hit pair of the 2000s, Trisha and Vijay after a span of 14 years. Leo has an ensemble cast which includes Sanjay Dutt, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, to name a few.
The shoot for the film is currently in full swing. Trisha had revealed during the promotions of Ponniyin Selvan 2 that both Lokesh bro and Ungal Thalapathy Vijay are doing well and that they had sent their love to the team. Leo is one of the most-anticipated films of Vijay after his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj in Master.
