The latest industry buzz is that the upcoming movie Leo, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, has already raked in a staggering Rs 386 crore in its pre-release business. Even before its grand cinematic debut, the film is projected to generate an additional Rs 100 plus crore, taking its non-theatrical revenue close to Rs 500 crore.
The much-awaited action-packed thriller has successfully sealed lucrative deals for its satellite and digital rights. Sun TV has acquired the satellite rights, while Netflix secured the digital rights for a combined total of Rs 230 crore. Additionally, Sony has reportedly clinched the audio rights for the film, contributing Rs 16 crore to the movie's soaring revenue.
An Indiaglitz report claimed that the theatrical distribution rights for various regions have also been traded at impressive amounts. According to the report, the Hindi rights were sold for Rs 28 crore, overseas rights garnered Rs 60 crore, Kerala rights amounted to Rs 16 crore, and Karnataka and the Telugu states fetched Rs 15 crore and Rs 21 crore, respectively.
It's said the Tamil theatrical rights are still under negotiation, with some unconfirmed reports speculating that they could command an eye-watering Rs 100 crore. If the Tamil Nadu rights deal goes through at this substantial amount, the film's pre-theatrical revenue would reach an unprecedented Rs 450 crore.

Currently, the film is in its post-production phase and is scheduled to hit the silver screens on October 19.
