Thalapathy Vijay and Vetrimaaran: Will Tamil cinema's biggest superstar team up with its most acclaimed director? 'Yes', says this actor-filmmaker

Filmmaker Tamizh is touted to be a close associate of director Vetrimaaran. In a recent interview, Tamizh revealed that the odds of Vijay teaming up with Vetrimaaran were very likely. "A film with Vijay sir is confirmed. That's what I heard. I don't know about Kamal sir's film," said Tamizh. 

Vetrimaaran is now waiting for the release of Viduthalai Part 1 , which is due in cinemas on March 31. Following this, he's expected to direct Tamil superstar Suriya in Vaadivaasal. Later, he might start his movie with Vijay. It's said Vetrimaaran is also in talks with legendary actor Kamal Haasan.

Tamizh is known for his role in Suriya's critical hit Jai Bhim. He had played the role of a corrupt police officer, who commits a custodial murder and covers it up. He has also written and directed the 2022 period drama Taanakkaran. 

Tamizh's revelation has created quite excitement among the fans given that for a long time there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of Vijay acting in a film directed by Vetrimaaran. Vetrimaaran is one of the most highly-regarded filmmakers in Tamil cinema, known for his critically-acclaimed films like 'Visaranai' and 'Asuran'. While the prospect of Vijay collaborating with Vetrimaaran is exciting, it remains to be seen if such a collaboration will come to fruition.

There have been rumours circulating about Vijay and Vetrimaaran's collaboration for a while now. In 2019, Vetrimaaran himself confirmed that he had met with Vijay to discuss a potential project, but nothing came of it. 

Vetrimaaran has a reputation for delivering high-quality films that are both commercially successful and critically acclaimed. A collaboration between the two, Vijay and Vetrimaaran, would undoubtedly generate a lot of buzz and anticipation among fans.
