Thalapathy 69: Vijay, H Vinoth’s project announcement leaves netizens emotional

Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up to bid goodbye to his acting career, after the completion of his 69th film. The celebrated actor is teaming up with hitmaker H Vinoth for his final outing in films before his political entry, which has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. The actor-director duo officially announced the project with a special poster today (September 14, 2024). The official announcement of Thalapathy Vijay’s final film has left the netizens, especially the actor’s fans, highly emotional.

The makers of Thalapathy 69, KVN Productions, officially announced the highly anticipated project with a social media post, recently. In the social media post, the production banner confirmed that the Thalapathy Vijay starrer, which marks their maiden venture in Tamil cinema, will be helmed by hitmaker H Vinoth. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the songs and original score for the film. Thalapathy 69 is confirmed to hit the big screens in October 2025.

As expected, the official announcement of Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film left the diehard fans of the celebrated actor, as well as the cine-goers who grew up watching his films, highly emotional. “Cook well guys,” wrote the Vijay fans club on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle. “We Very Very Badly Will Miss You @actorvijay sir Sir & Your Last Film!!! Best Wishes & Last Tribute to #ThalapathyVijay and #Thalapathy69,” reads a post. “Thalapathy 69... One last time,” wrote another fan. “Still don't know how to react. As reported earlier, Thalapathy Vijay is reportedly set to play the role of a cop in the film, scripted by H Vinoth himself. Mohanlal is said to be playing a pivotal role in Thalapathy 69. Earlier, it was rumoured that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is approached to play the female lead in the film. However, recent updates suggest that Pooja Hegde is in talks for the role. Simran, the popular actress and Premalu fame actress Mamitha Baiju are also expected to join the Thalapathy 69 star cast. More updates on the same are expected to be out soon.
