Thalapathy Vijay, the biggest crowd-puller of the Tamil film industry, is all set to bid goodbye to the film industry, to pursue a career in politics. Before his long break in films, Vijay is set to team up with director H Vinoth for his 69th project. The highly anticipated movie, which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, is reportedly set to start rolling soon. The much-awaited project is expected to have its official launch, soon after the release of Vijay’s next outing, The Greatest Of All Time.
Thalapathy 69: Vijay, H Vinoth’s film to go on floors in October 2024?
As per the latest updates, director H Vinoth and his team plan to kick start the shooting of the upcoming Thalapathy Vijay starrer, in October 2024. The untitled project, which is touted to be an out-and-out political thriller with a touch of action, is expected to feature the popular star in a never-seen-before avatar. Even though Vijay and Vinoth have not officially announced the project, expectations are riding high on the actor-director duo’s first-ever onscreen collaboration.
Thalapathy 69 to have its official launch after The GOAT release?
If the recent updates are to be believed, Thalapathy Vijay is planning to officially announce Thalapathy 69, only after the release of The GOAT. As you may know, the highly anticipated Venkat Prabhu directorial is all set to hit the theatres across the globe, on September 5, 2024. As per the reports, Vijay is keen to not take away the limelight from The Greatest Of All Time until its release, with any other major announcement. That is why the official announcement of Thalapathy 69 will only happen in October 2024.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is in talks to play a pivotal role in the untitled film. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been reportedly approached to play the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay in the film. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the songs and the original score. Sathyan Sooryan is expected to join the project as the director of photography. The untitled Vijay-starrer is bankrolled by KVN Productions.
