The much-awaited update is here! The first look of Thalapathy 69, which is touted as Vijay's final film, will be released on January 26, on Republic Day, the makers of the film announced on social media. Helmed by H Vinoth, Thalapathy 69 is produced by KVN Productions.

Actor Vijay, who announced his entry into politics last year, will be seen on big screens one more time before he bids adieu to his illustrious film career. Thalapathy 69, which is expected to be his final film, is one of the much-anticipated Tamil films this year.

On Friday, the makers announced that the first-look poster of Thalapathy 69 is all set to be unveiled on January 26, for the occasion of Republic Day. KVN Productions, which is bankrolling Thalapathy 69, created a small mash-up of all of Vijay's films and posted the latest update about the film.

Thalapathy 69 is directed by H Vinoth in his maiden collaboration with the actor. The cast of Thalapathy 69 includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and others. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring music for the film, which is set to release in October.

There is a strong buzz that Thalapathy 69 is a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sreeleela and Kajal Aggarwal. While the makers have not announced this officially, actor VTV Ganesh recently said in an event that how Vijay had watched Bhagavanth Kesari five times and loved it. He even said that Vijay had called the director, Anil Ravipudi, to work with him.
