Director Venkat Prabhu, who made Custody with Naga Chaitanya a month ago, surprised one and all when he announced a project with Vijay recently. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, the untitled movie will be produced by AGS Entertainment. The makers haven't revealed when they are going on floors.
Fans of Vijay are now awaiting Leo which is slated for a wide release on October 19. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial will hit screens in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. It is currently the most-awaited Tamil movie of the year.
At the trailer and audio launch of the film Regina which was held yesterday in Chennai, Venkat Prabhu, one of the guests of the event, was asked about the update on Thalapathy 68. However, he confessed that he is not at liberty to say anything now.
The Maanaadu filmmaker added that this is not the right time to discuss the project and said jokingly that Vijay might scold him for revealing updates if he keeps talking about the film unnecessarily. Having said that, Venkat has promised to reveal interesting updates on it after Leo releases. Interestingly, Lokesh, too, was tight-lipped about Leo before the star's previous film Varisu hit screens.
The theatrical rights of Leo in overseas and Kerala markets have been sold, and makers are expected to come up with many exciting updates this June. A promo video is likely to be out on Vijay's birthday which falls on 22nd of this month.
Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Menon and Mysskin among others play key roles in the movie which has music composed by Anirudh and action helmed by Anbariv. Meanwhile, the OTT release of Venkat's Custody is likely to happen soon.
