Thalapathy 68: Venkat Prabhu hints at Jr NTR's role in Vijay starrer?

AGS Entertainment on Sunday announced that it will be bankrolling Tamil superstar Vijay's next movie, which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. This revelation not only ended the speculation about the film's director but also brought a pleasant surprise as Venkat Prabhu was confirmed to be helming the project.

The announcement itself was quite unique, with an animated character playing the newspaper crossword puzzle, unveiling the main cast and crew of Thalapathy 68. One intriguing detail that caught everyone's attention was the inclusion of NTR's name next to Vijay's in the puzzle.

This revelation has sparked speculation about the possibility of the Telugu superstar sharing screen space with Vijay in the film. Considering the careful planning involved in the puzzle sheet and the filmmakers' awareness of the significance of such details at this stage of production, it is unlikely that the mention of NTR's name was a mistake. It seems more plausible that it was intentionally included to generate excitement and anticipation, setting the stage for a major reveal.

However, the filmmakers have clarified that no significant details will be disclosed until the release of their current project, Leo . This means that fans and the audience will have to wait patiently for any further information about the potential collaboration between Vijay and NTR in Thalapathy 68.

I'm very happy and all updates will come after Leo," Vekat told the curious media persons. "Everything is suspense now." 

The announcement has come at the right time for Venkat as it has taken the focus off his latest directorial outing Custody . Starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead, the movie was released in cinemas earlier this year. There were a lot of expectations before its release but the film fell flat at the box office. The movie was a big commercial and critical disaster. However, Thalapathy 68 has helped Venkat to bounce off this failure in no time. 

But, Jr NTR playing a role in Thalapathy 68 is not completely outside the realm of possibility. NTR has shown more willingness to share screen space with stars of his stature. He acted together with Ram Charan in the blockbuster RRR. And he will also be seen crossing swords with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan in the upcoming War 2. 

Meanwhile, Vijay is now busy shooting for Leo, which is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie is set to hit the screen in October.
