On September 20, the Tamil web series will have its global premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video with English subtitles. "A village where every day brings new twists and turns. Are you ready for the journey?," the cast and crew posted on Instagram, revealing its first poster.
Several latest Tamil films, including Raayan (starring Dhanush), Garudan (starring Soori), and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan (starring Vijay Antony) began streaming on the platform recently.
The eight-episode series, which is directed by Naga, is produced by The Viral Fever (TVF). The project's screenplay, written by Balakumaran Murugesan, promises to be a humorous delight for movie buffs. Anand Sami and Paul Raj are among the supporting cast of the web series.
In the comedy-drama series, Abishek plays Sidharth, a new engineering graduate from Chennai, unwillingly accepts a position as a secretary in the isolated village of Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam—far outside of his comfort zone. He becomes entangled in a complex and often hilarious comedy of mistakes as he makes his way through the peculiarities of rural life and its peculiar residents.
Through a straightforward but compelling story, this project offers an appealing combination of humour and heartfelt moments with similarities to the Hindi web series, Panchayat, which is also streaming on Amazon Prime Video. According to Vijay Koshy of The Viral Fever (TVF), Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam will resonate with audiences in India and beyond.
