Rajinikanth's next big budget Tamil film is tentatively titled Thalaivar 171. The superstar was last seen in Jailer, which was a smashing hit at the box office. In his 48-year-long career, Rajinikanth has given numerous blockbusters. And at 73, he is still unstoppable. Rajinikanth's next movie is Thalaivar 171 and the latest from the film is that Ranveer Singh, not Shah Rukh Khan, has been roped in for a role in the movie. Little wonder the internet is abuzz with this piece of information.

Ranveer Singh to play a crucial character in Thalaivar 171?

Although nothing has been revealed by the makers yet, it is being reported that Ranveer will have a crucial role in Thalaivar 171. It was rumoured that makers were in talks to cast either Shah Rukh Khan or Ranveer Singh. And it seems like they have settled on Ranveer. Even though nothing is official at the moment, it sure is exciting news.

Thalaivar 171's title to be revealed on April 22

Last month, director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed the first motion poster for Thalaivar 171, while announcing that the title of the film will be revealed on April 22. In a monochromatic picture, Rajinikanth is seen wearing a jeans shirt and black sunglasses, with a rowdy look on his face. His hands are locked with several golden watches like handcuffs.

Meanwhile, apart from Thalaivar 171, Rajinikanth is currently busy filming Vettaiyan. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh in pivotal roles. According to reports, makers are filming Vettaiyan across India. Rajinikanth is playing a retired police officer in the film. Apart from Thalaivar 171 and Vettaiyan, the South star is also in talks for the sequel of Jailer.
