Rajinikanth, the ultimate superstar of Tamil cinema is finally teaming up with talented filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, for his 171st outing in films. The highly anticipated project, which is touted to be fantasy action film, has been tentatively titled Thalaivar 171. As reported earlier, the much-awaited project is all set to start rolling in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, the recent updates suggest that the technical crew Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film has undergone some major changes.

Earlier, it was reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj is set to team up with Manoj Paramahamsa, the cinematographer of Leo, for the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer. However, recent updates suggest that the popular cinematographer is no longer a part of Thalaivar 171. Manoj Paramahamsa reportedly made an exit from the much-awaited project, due to his busy schedule. But, director Lokesh Kanagaraj and his team have already found the perfect replacement for the talented filmmaker.
If the recent updates are to be believed, the famous filmmaker is set to reunite with Girish Gangadharan, the cinematographer of his blockbuster outing Vikram, for the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer. The new update has left the cine-goers, who love director Lokesh’s signature-making style in the Kamal Haasan starrer, highly excited. The makers of Thalaivar 171 are expected to officially announce the names of the crew members with an official update, very soon.

As reported earlier, Rajinikanth is set to play a full-fledged negative role after a very long gap, in the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. In some of his recent interviews, the filmmaker dropped some major hints on the same and revealed that he has always loved the villainous characters played by the legendary superstar, in vintage Tamil films. It has also been rumoured that popular star Sivakarthikeyan is playing an equally important role in the film.
However, both the Maaveeran actor and the makers of Thalaivar 171 have not reacted to these reports so far. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that veteran actress Shobana is in talks to play a pivotal role in the untitled film. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the songs and original score for the film. The official title of Thalaivar 171, which is bankrolled by the prestigious banner Sun Pictures, is slated to be revealed on April 22, 2024.
