Thalaivar 171 - Is Shruti Haasan part of Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj's film? Here’s what we know

Shruti Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who recently starred in her music video Inimel, are all set to join forces once again! According to the latest reports, the actress is all set to play a key role in Rajinikanth-starrer Thalaivar 171, which is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The reports state that she has already signed the dotted line and an official announcement will be made soon. If the reports turn out to be true, the upcoming film will mark the director-actress’ sophomore collaboration after their recent romantic single Inimel.  

For the unversed, the breezy love track Inimel was composed by Shruti Haasan, and starred Lokesh and Shruti in the roles of a couple. Interestingly, the song was penned by the actress’ father and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, who had also produced the single under his home production house Raaj Kamal Films International. The love track was directed by Dwarkesh Prabakar.

Speculated star cast of Thalaivar 171

The upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, which is yet to begin production, is set to have an ensemble star cast, including actors from Bollywood! In the latest update, there are speculations around Ranveer Singh playing a significant character in the film Although the news is yet to be confirmed, sources close to the team have claimed that the actor is indeed a part of the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer. Not only Ranveer, but Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is also rumoured to be making a cameo appearance in the film.  

In the meantime, a few reports have also claimed that veteran actor Mohan, popularly known as Mic Mohan, has been roped in to play the main antagonist. Veteran actress Shobana is also said to be in talks to do a pivotal role. If all these rumours turn out to be true, the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is set to be a massive project with fans getting to witness all of their favourite stars in one frame.

Shruti Haasan’s next projects

Meanwhile, the actress, who has Salaar-Part 2 in her kitty, will also be a part of the bilingual film Chennai Story, which is helmed by Philip John.
