Thalaivar 170: THIS Ponniyin Selvan 2 star has been approached to play the antagonist in Rajinikanth's film

Fans of Rajinikanth were elated when Lyca Productions announced their untitled film with the Superstar. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, it marks the third collaboration between the production house and the star after Darbar and Lal Salaam. TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame was brought on board to helm the project.

Rajini plays a cop in the movie, according to the sources. More details on his character and other cast and crew will be announced later. Anirudh's inclusion as its music director is the only information they have revealed now.

We now hear that a leading star from Kollywood has been approached to essay the antagonist's role in the film. It is none other than Vikram, going by a few sources. Speculations are rife about the Ponniyin Selvan 2 actor rejecting the offer, but an official confirmation is awaited.

Needless to say, it will be a crazy multi-starrer from Tamil if the news turns out to be true. Fans of both the stars are eagerly waiting for an update. Vikram has acted along with Ajith and Suriya, and has headlined a project under Kamal Haasan's production. Many cinephiles point out that teaming up with Rajinikanth will be a life coming full circle moment for him.

The star's next outing is Thangalaan which has Pa Ranjith at its helm. The film is expected to hit screens this year. The long-delayed Dhruva Natchathiram, too, is said to be releasing in 2023.
