Thalaimai Seyalagam is title of ZEE5’s new political series directed by Vasanthabalan

A new political series is in town! Titled Thalaimai Seyalagam, the makers of the upcoming Tamil series released the first look and teaser on social media recently. The series is set to stream on ZEE5 from May 17, the team revealed. Thalaimai Seyalagam is headlined by actor Kishore.

Thalaimai Seyalagam teaser

The teaser begins with monochromatic shots of clashes in what may seem as a political meeting. Then we see Kishore, clad in white and white costume talking about what justice is, whether it is punishing those who committed crimes or instilling a fear where no crime happens. We are also shown intercuts of clashes and riots and montages of various other characters. The voiceover continues to say that to stand with those on the right side, one ought to punish others for crimes, which can also result in death. He also says that justice is the selfless love that a leader keeps on his subjects, as we are shown the righteous person he is.

Thalaimai Seyalagam is helmed by National-Award winning filmmaker Vasanthabalan, who has also written the series. The political thriller series is set to premiere on ZEE5 on May 17. Vasanthabalan is known for directing some popular and award-winning films like Angaadi Theru, Veyil, and Kaaviya Thalaivan. His last film was Aneethi starring Arjun Das and Dushara Vijayan. The upcoming series marks the director's debut in the series and OTT space.

The cast of Thalaimai Seyalagam includes some known faces, including actor Kishore playing the lead role. Others part of the cast include Sriya Reddy, Bharath, Ramya Nambessan, Aditya Menon, Kani Kusruti, Niroop Nandakumar, Darsha Gupta, Sarah Black, Siddharth Vipin, YGM, Santhana Bharathi, Kavitha Bharathi and others.

The series is backed by actors Radikaa Sarathkumar, and R. Sarathkumar under the banner Radaan Mediaworks India Limited. The series is shot by cinematographer Wide angle Ravishankar and has music by Ghibran. Ravikumar M is the editor of Thalaimai Seyalagam.
