Test: Meera Jasmine joins Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth in Sashikanth's directorial debut

Noted producer Sashikanth had surprised one and all when he announced that he is going to make his directorial debut with a project titled Test. He himself is bankrolling the movie along with Chakravarthy Ramachandra. Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth were roped in earlier at the time of the film's announcement.

Popular singer Shakthisree Gopalan was brought on board to compose music. The project marks her debut as a musician. It was none other than AR Rahman who revealed the news recently, leaving her fans excited. She had thanked both Rahman and Sashikanth after she received wishes from several quarters.

Billed as a thriller which is set against the backdrop of cricket, Test will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The team has now informed us that Meera Jasmine has joined the cast. This has further escalated expectations on the project.

Movie buffs are eager to know if the actress has scenes with Madhavan. The duo was a hit pair after the release of Lingusamy's Run and Mani Ratnam's Ayutha Ezhuthu two decades ago. However, she hasn't worked with Nayanthara and Siddharth. Cinephiles are now waiting to know the next surprise from makers of Test.

Meera, who returned to acting last year after a short sabbatical in Mollywood movie Makal, has signed the Tamil film Vimanam as well. It will have her share screen presence with Samuthirakani. The project will hit the screens on June 9.

Test will mark the actress's comeback to Kollywood after almost a decade's hiatus. She was last seen in Tamil in Parthi's sci-fi flick Vingyani which was released in 2014.
