Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya trailer review - Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon take a cliched leap into the uncharted territory of love

The trailer for Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is finally out. Touted to be an impossible love story, the film features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The romantic comedy against the backdrop of sci-fi is about a young man who is clumsy and bumbling and meets the girl of his dreams in a world that is unusual. While he is navigating his way through a succession of funny blunders and dangerous scenarios, he must win her heart in the process.

Intimate moments, revelation, and family dramedy

In the trailer, we see Shahid and Kriti falling for each other and sharing intimate moments in an exotic location. However, when he proposes marriage to her, it is revealed that she is a robot, but that revelation does not alter his feelings for her. The film then gets into family dramedy mode, where Kriti's character wins over his family with her antics and gets away from the fact that she is not a human by claiming constantly that she is from America. However, we also see the other side of the impossible love story, with Dimple Kapadia coming into the picture as Shahid's aunt and also as a scientist who is aware of the truth—a love story between a human and a robot.

The film has light-hearted moments, which can be fun to watch; amid all that, it's filled with cliches, which are the usual tropes seen in romantic comedy. However, we have to commend the makers for bringing a romantic film, which has sadly become a rarity in Bollywood.

Creators and cast of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya

Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah wrote and directed Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Along with Shahid and Kriti, the film also stars Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles.

The romantic comedy film marks the first appearance of Shahid and Kriti together on the big screen. Going by the trailer, it seems like they do share a sizzling chemistry and will be a fresh onscreen couple to watch out for. 

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya will hit the big screen on February 9, 2024.
