Telugu Indian Idol 2 is growing in popularity with every episode among viewers in Telugu states and other parts of the country and is enjoying immense love from music enthusiasts in US, UK as well. The show is progressing towards one of its crucial (semi-final stages) and top seven contestants are leaving no stone unturned to prove their worth.
In this weekend’s episode, the show’s youngest contestant Ayyan Pranathi impressed audiences with her rendition of Chitra’s 80s hit Ninnu Kori Varnam, composed by Ilaiyaraaja for Mani Ratnam’s Gharshana. That’s not all, Pranathi had a mega surprise when she revealed about her interaction with Bholaa Shankar, Waltair Veerayya star Chiranjeevi at his residence.
She got to sing the much-revered Thyagaraja keerthana Bantu Reethi Koluvu in the presence of Chiranjeevi, his wife Surekha and their granddaughter. Unsurprisingly, the captivating performance left the couple spellbound and they were in awe of Pranathi's talents. Chiranjeevi and his better half Surekha blessed her and wished her the best for Telugu Indian Idol season 2.
Expressing her happiness, Pranathi stated, “I am humbled and grateful to Chiranjeevi and Surekha garu for offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in their presence. It’s a dream come true, and I am determined to give my best in the competition. This experience has given me newfound confidence, and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
For the uninitiated, Ayyan Pranathi is a 14-year-old singer from Vishakhapatnam, who has been very consistent with her performances in the show with her matured voice belying her age. Her rendition of Mastaaru Mastaaru earned praise from music director GV Prakash recently as well. Telugu Indian idol 2 is hosted by Hemachandra and the judges are S Thaman, Karthik and Geetha Madhuri.
