The teaser for actor Yogi Babu’s upcoming film, Boat, has been released. Actors Aamir Khan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kichcha Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi and Naga Chaitanya launched the teaser.

Ten individuals who board a small boat and head for the sea to escape the Japanese bombing are shown in the teaser. It also hints at a couple of humorous, dramatic and intriguing scenes in the water.

The survival thriller is directed by Puli-fame Chimbudevan. Prabha Premkumar and C Kalaivani Maali have produced the film under the banner of Maali and Maanvi Movie Makers and Chimbudeven Entertainment. Madhesh Manickam is the cinematographer of the movie, which is set in 1943.

Ghibran has composed music for the film, which also has Gouri G Kishan, M S Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen and Kulappulli Leela playing prominent roles. The title of the movie was revealed in July. However, the makers have not announced the date of the theatrical release yet.

In an interview with the Times of India, Chimbu Devan mentioned that the film is based on incidents when Japan bombed Chennai in the 1940s. Additionally, he stated that after four to five months of discussion, Kulasekharapatnam, which is close to Tuticorin, was chosen as the shooting location. Fishermen helped them out during the shoots at sea. Fortunately, Yogi was able to swim well on his own after he unintentionally fell into the sea during the filming, the director added.

Yogi Babu’s upcoming projects

Yogi Babu, who appeared in over 20 films, including Jailer, Varisu and Maaveeran, in 2023, has a few projects, such as Suriya’s Kanguva, Aranmanai 4, Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Thalapathy 68, lined up for the coming year. The actor will make his Malayalam debut with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. According to reports, Yogi has also been roped in for director Maruthi’s next project in Telugu, starring Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt. The film, which will mark the actor’s debut in Telugu, is expected to be a horror comedy.
