The makers of Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram have been teasing movie buffs with back-to-back surprises for more than a month. The promotional activities for the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is almost in its final stage. The team has started unveiling character posters from Monday.
They began by releasing Fahadh Faasil's poster; the versatile actor plays Amar, reportedly a cop, in the film. Vikram marks the Mollywood star's third outing in Tamil after Mohan Raja's Velaikkaran and Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe.
They have now come up with Vijay Sethupathi's character poster; he will be seen essaying Santhanam, a dreaded gangster, in the movie. This is the second time Sethupathi is teaming up with Lokesh; he was seen in the latter's previous outing Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2021.
Kamal Haasan had earlier revealed that every prominent character in the project has a separate gang of theirs, and it is the conflict between these gangs which takes the story forward.
Movie buffs are eagerly looking forward to Kamal's character poster; it is expected that the much-awaited poster will be unveiled tomorrow. Meanwhile, fans of Suriya are curious to know if makers would come up with a surprise for them as well.
The actor is playing a cameo which appears towards the end of the action flick. It is likely that he will play the protagonist in the next instalment.
The team has completed promotions in Delhi, Kochi, Mumbai, Malaysia and Chennai. The movie produced by Raaj Kamal Films International has promotional activities pending in Dubai and Hyderabad.
Vikram will release on June 3 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While the film is expected to take gargantuan openings in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, it will have box office clashes with Major and Samrat Prithviraj in Telugu and Hindi box office respectively.
